Whom to blame?

Regarding the tragic deaths of so many innocent children, I find it really irritating to see the everybody pushing the responsibility on others. Who is to blame? Government, School management, Education department's officials, fire department......list is big. I think the blame lies on everyone...meaning, every citizen of India. A bit far fletched???..actually no. Think about it, all we care is about our rights..how many times have we cared about duties. The school management should have adhered to the rules of safety, the Government should have seen that the rules are forced, the education department's official should have conducted necessary inspections, fire and safety department must have been more vigilant, and above all parents should know where they want to put their children and if they are safe. Ignorance can never be an excuse. The sad part is, opposition parties push the blame on Government and Government on the officials and so on. If we check the history of the school, when it was built, then probably we can find that all the Governments can be blamed for. It is the poor of India that find really pathetic. First they are ignorant and second they cannot offord if they knew. Look at most of the convents in the cities. Very rarely we find such events happening. Anyway, not just the students, even the teachers should be taught how to handle fire. Mass evacuation is a difficult excercise at the least..so cannot blame the teachers for everything.

After a long timee

I am in India for those who don't know. contrary to what I thought, I won't miss anything here except my family. Honestly speaking, I am praying to get VISA. I am not sure how I will come to terms if I have to stay here for some more time. Given a choice I might start tomorrow (except ofcourse my parents with long faces). The heat is scorching. Taking bath is another ordeal. The tap water is near boiling temperature. Madras is so polluted now, that for the first time I could remember, I am starting to lose my interest in this city. Dad was quite sick when I had come, but he is doing lots better now. Guess he will be back to office in about 3 weeks. Arthi's marriage went well. From my side, got to wait for VISA till august 16th. Not sure what's gonna happen to me. I have been going to jog for the past two days. Planning to join swimming classes also. Just one day into rest, feeling like a vegetable. Got to learn and do something constructive.
That's all for now...will meet with more ramblings later.
